Job description:

A major global Tier 1 in the world of POWERTRAIN technology is seeking an Engineer to work as part of a technical RESIDENT CALIBRATION ENGINEERING team on a major OEM site based in the Midlands area. 
You will be playing a key role in the development phase of Diesel - Gasoline based calibration and integration projects.  Will have solid exposure to either fuel efficiency, or emission target application/calibration for Euro 6 and beyond for passenger cars.
This role requires a degree qualified engineer that understands the calibration process and the functionality of (and is able to manipulate) the ECU software working directly with the OEM client on site.
Key skills will be validating identifying and rectifying fault code errors throughout the calibration development phase working closely with the software teams overseas. This a great role to develop your client and technical skills while still being involved at the highest technical level on delivery.

Your responsibilities as Resident Calibration Engineer include:   
Application of Electronically Controlled Diesel/Gasoline Systems   
Checking and calibration of key functions/components 
Support calibration of customer responsible functions   
Identify and document changes for new S/W levels   
Data Set/Calibration building (e.g. to implement new S/W level)   
Support key meetings between customer and Bosch   
Keep data base of calibration developments and maps  
Support trouble shooting of customer engines/vehicles   
Support offsite as required in other OEM customer sites   
Support customer environment test trips (cold, hot, altitude, etc)

Resident Engineer Ideal Profile: 
An appropriate engineering degree, ideally mechanical or electronics
Knowledge of vehicles and engine management ECU systems is essential   
Knowledge of electronic diesel control calibration and Diesel/Gasoline/Hybrid engines is important   
Skills in handling ECU S/W   
Skills in PC based application tools, such as ETAS INCA   
Must hold a full driving licence   
Flexible to travel   
Good communication skills   
Customer orientated and a team player 
EU citizen or relevant right to work in the UK visa.
