Job description:

As Power Electronics Engineer with a leading global powertrain consultancy you will support customers on vehicle electrification projects with Power Electronics, high voltage components and hybrid vehicle supervisory control development. This challenging role requires good understanding of power electronics and hybrid components fundamentals, ability to comprehensively understand customer requirements.

The Company: 
Our client is the world's largest privately owned and independent company for the development of powertrain systems with internal combustion engines, E-mobility applications as well as instrumentation and test systems.

Our client supports customers in a number of areas relating to vehicle electrification, from Power Electronics, high voltage components and hybrid vehicle supervisory control development. The role requires working with other team members and the customer in order to deliver projects according to the plan. This will include the following key activities:
 - Support in the design of electronic prototypes and production units used by the OEM customer in their electrification programmes.
 - Modelling, simulation, analysis, integration of various hybrid components and to provide guidance to customer on the most suitable technology and design for each application.
ideal candidate for the role of Power Electronics Engineer: 

Essential:
 - Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Control Engineering or similar
 - Broad hardware (analogue and digital) electronic engineering design skills
 - Good understanding of power electronics and hybrid components fundamentals, ability to comprehensively understand customer requirements
 - Strong communication, teamwork and leading abilities
 - Analytical and conceptual capabilities
 - Good written and oral English
 - Confident in presenting to management and technical specialists
Preferable:
 - Either a number of years of experience in electronics requirements, design and control or a higher academic degree (e.g. PhD) relating to power electronics
 - Knowledge of the design of high voltage components (power supplies, DCDC converters, inverters, chargers etc)
 - Experience in rapid prototyping systems, DOORS, Simulink, Matlab, Vector tools and a hardware design simulation tool.
 - Project Management
Package:
 - GBP32,000 - 45,000 dependent on experience
