Job description:

As an Embedded Software Engineer with a leading global powertrain consultancy you will be responsible for system and component design, including the development, testing, integration and documentation. This challenging role requires a degree qualified engineer with an understanding of using Matlab/Simulink and C programming language. 
Embedded Software Engineer responsibilities include: 
 - Requirements formulation and review
 - System design (including architecture)
 - Component design, development, implementation, test, integration and documentation
 - Maintenance and enhancement of build environment and development toolset
 - Interaction with internal and external customers
ideal candidate for the role of Embedded Software Engineer: 
 - First degree in an engineering discipline, or comparable qualification with relevant experience
 - Demonstrable ability to use the C programming language
 - Demonstrable ability to use MatLab/Simulink/Stateflow (including simulation and code generation) for real time embedded control
 - An understanding of integer, fixed point and floating point arithmetic
 - Familiarity with scheduling techniques & operating systems
skills for the role of Embedded Software Engineer:
 - Knowledge of safety as it applies to software (MISRA, ISO26262)
 - Experience of automotive technologies and processes
 - Familiarity with assembler
 - Knowledge of static code analysis tools (PolySpace, Vector CastÂ…)
 - Knowledge of micro-processors and -controllers (inc. GPUs)
 - Knowledge of other high-level languages (R, Python, SwiftÂ…)
 - Knowledge of AUTOSAR
 - Knowledge of automotive communications (CAN, FlexRay, LIN, Ethernet, TT-Ethernet, MOST, UDS, OBD, J1939Â…)
 - A second language (German or Chinese an advantage)
