The Role
You will be working on the heart of the car delivering the V8 - V12 engines to all car platforms. Key to this will be delivering maximum engine performance while delivering fuel and emissions target to worldwide emissions regulation. 
The Simulation Engineer (SE) will join the Powertrain Design and Know-How group within the Powertrain Department.
The SE will be typically responsible for CFD 1D engine simulations pertaining to several aspects of engine performance from the concept phase down to Start of Production. The SE will interact with several functions within the Powertrain Department (e.g. Concept Design, Innovation, Testing, Homologation) and with other Units (e.g. Vehicle Performance).
Main Tasks  
 - Contributing during the engine concept phase to defining the key features and technologies needed in order to reach the engine performance targets
 - Supporting the testing and development activities by cross-analysing experimental and numerical results
 - Cooperating with the other Functions within and outside his/her Department throughout the lifetime of an engine project
 - Developing novel methodologies for the continuous improvement of the simulation tools and models
 - Interacting with suppliers and consultants and managing projects under his/her responsibility
 - Taking part in Engine Innovation and Research programmes

Relationships
 - General knowledgeability on operating principles and physics governing modern spark-ignited internal combustion engines
 - Deep knowledge on Fluid-dynamics
 - Sensitivity to the latest trends in engine design for performance and for reduced emissions
 - Flexibility in working in a highly-dynamic and fast-changing environment
 - Capability of interacting constructively within a Team and among Teams

Requirements
 - Work experience in top research companies, universities or OEM 
 - Master Degree in Mechanical Engineer or equivalent
 - Good knowledge of English, both written and spoken 
 - Knowledge of GT-Suite or  Ricardo Wave simulation environment.
 - Familiar with automotive product development.
 - Self-motivated and methodical approach
 - Excellent relationship and communication skills
 - Fluent in English
