Job description:

Role:	Machine Learning Software Engineer
Location:	Birmingham
Duration:	6 months + rolling contract (multiple projects)
Rate:	Up to GBP35ph

As a Machine Learning Software Engineer at a prestigious Technical Research and Development Centre, you will join the new Connected Autonomous Vehicle team. You will be responsible for selecting/developing and implementing appropriate machine learning algorithms for computer vision, data analysis and control applications. Working within areas of pre- autonomy, connected and electrification creating a new era in which emerging technologies can be fully harnessed for future opportunities. This challenging role requires a degree qualified engineer with extensive experience with Tensorflow/ Matlab and software development skills in C, C++ and Python

Responsibilities include: 
- Design, develop and test software proof of concept (PoC) applications working closely with various teams within the organisation
- Select or develop and implement appropriate machine learning algorithms for computer vision, data analysis and control applications
- Integrate open source and third party software components 
- Integrate software solutions in target PoC platforms and embedded devices
- Prepare appropriate technical documentation 
- Work as part of an engineering team or independently as required

Your Profile:
- A degree in a relevant engineering discipline 
- Excellent SW development skills in OpenCV, C/C++, Python and Java
- Experience in other languages, tools and libraries like Matlab, Tensorflow, scikit-learn
- Working knowledge of Linux and Android.
- Working knowledge in machine learning algorithms, data handling and cleaning
- Experience proficient in writing algorithms and packaging them into proof of concepts
- Experience of configuration management tools, e.g. Subversion, GIT

Preferable experience but not essential:
- Experience of Agile development methods (Scrum, test-driven development, etc.) 
- Experience of technical customer support work (fault finding, issue tracking, etc.)
