Job description:

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a development alliance between a prestigious automotive tier 1 supplier and one of the worlds leading premium-class automaker as a Computer Vision Development Engineer on a fully automated, driverless system (L4/L5). You will be responsible for developing mapping and map learning solutions using multi-sensors. 

This collaboration aims to make a system for fully automated (SAE-Level 4) and driverless (SAE-Level 5) vehicles a reality on city streets by the start of the next decade.

This challenging role requires a degree qualified engineer with extensive experience coding in C++ and algorithm design. This is a permanent position working on future technologies! 

Computer Vision Development Engineer responsibilities include: 
- Develop localization & mapping techniques for our autonomous car, using its camera-, radar- and lidar- sensors
- Play a key role in the algorithm development for functionality and approach
- Elaborate and implement map learning, which keeps the map of the self-driving car product up-to-date
- Working in collaboration with teams from different departments, internationally and across companies/ organisations

The ideal candidate for the role of Computer Vision Development Engineer: 
- Degree (M.Sc or PhD) in robotics, machine learning, computer science or related
- Experience in developing localization and mapping techniques
- Knowledge in localization, mapping, SLAM, structure-from-motion. 
- Excellent C/C++ programming skills
- Familiarity with the modern software frameworks, version control tools and development on Linux systems.
- English language writing and speaking skills are business fluent. 

Beneficial areas of experience:
- Experience in robotics, ROS, computer vision, point cloud processing are a plus
- German language knowledge is a plus.
